H.E. Dr. Igor Lukšić
In 1998, Dr. Lukšić graduated from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro in Podgorica. At the same institution he obtained a MA degree in 2002 on the topic: “Spontaneous Order and Transition” and a PhD in 2005 on the topic: “Transition – the Process of Achieving Economic and Political Freedoms”. He was elected MP at the Parliament of Montenegro five times (in 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2009). In the period from January to April 2003, he was public relations adviser to the Prime Minister. From March 2003 to February 2004, he served as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia and Montenegro. Since February 2004, he has served five terms as Finance Minister and two terms as Deputy Prime Minister, since December 2008. He was the youngest Minister and Deputy Prime Minister at the Government of Montenegro. He was appointed Prime Minister on December 29, 2010. In December 2012, he was elected Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
