H.E. Mr. Ante Kotromanović

H.E. Mr. Ante Kotromanović was born on May 8, 1968 in Potravlje near Sinj. From 1991 until 1992 he was Commander of the Special Unit of the CroatianArmy Main Staff, and from 1992 to 1993 he was Battalion Commander in the Sinj Training Centre. 

Mr. Ante Kotromanović was commander of the 4th Guard Brigade Split in 1996-2001 and he was Chief of the Staff of the Military District Dubrovnik during 2001 and 2002. In 2007 he became the MP at the Croatian Parliament and Chairman of the Veterans Committee. In 2011 Mr. Kotromanović was appointed Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia. During his service in the Armed Forces he completed many specialist courses in Croatia and abroad, like the Antiterrorist Combat Course, Management Course, and the SSTR Course at George C. Marshall European Centre for Security Studies in Garmisch Partenkirchen). 

He graduated from the Command and Staff College in 1993, and War College OSHR in 2000. For his outstanding service in the Armed Forces, Mr. Kotromanović has been decorated with numerous Croatian military decorations. He is the author of numerous articles on military, i.e. military-political, war veterans’ and terrorism issues.
