Mijo Krešić
Deputy Minister of Defence, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Deputy Defence Minister Mijo Krešić graduated from the Zagreb School of Economics and Management (Zagreb, Croatia), at the Finance and Accounting Department and got his MBA degree in 2014.
He graduated from The Military Academy Belgrade (Belgrade, Serbia), Ground Forces in 1989.
He was a member of the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina until 1997 as commander in the 2nd Corps of the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
He was the general manager of Inter-Impex Ltd. Tuzla from 1997 to 2007.
As the acting manager in Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordionation of the Fight against Corruption for one year he contributed significantly to its foundation and management.
He was Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina from 2007 to 2012 during which period he participated in negotiations with neighbour countries on cross-border cooperation as well as coordinated in setting the system of Lawful Interception in B&H telecommunications. During this period he actively participated in the negotiations for the establishment of a visa-free regime between B&H and EU.
He was a representative in Tuzla Canton Assembly devoted to working on drafting laws as well as monitoring the spending of the executive power, public funds and public companies founded and owned by Tuzla Canton from 2012 to 2014.
He became Deputy Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina again at the beginning of April 2015.
He was the head of Bosnian and Herzegovinian police football team that participated in two world championships organised by International Police Association.
He is married and has two children. He speaks English and Russian.His hobbies are skiing, football and tennis.
He is the member of the Presidency of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
