Vadym Chernysh

Minister for Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons, Ukraine

He was born in 1971 in Ukraine. He is an expert on anti – money laundering and financing of terrorism. From 1994 to 2000, he has worked in a bank as a senior lawyer – inspector of banking security. Since 1999 he has been working as a practicing lawyer. Mr. Chernysh was a Head of the Kirovohrad Regional State Administration (Governor) in 2006-2007 and a Deputy of Kirovohrad Regional Council (2002- 2010). He has shortly become member of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in 2007. From 2014 to June 2015, Mr. Chernysh headed a NGO “Center for Security Studies and Anti – Money Laundering”. From June 2015 to April 2016 headed the State agency of Ukraine for Donbas recovery. From April 2016 is Minister for temporarily occupied territories and  IDPs of Ukraine. He has Ph.D. degree in law (Thesis: Administrative and legal bases for intelligence oversight). He is a member of Scientific-Advisory Council of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
