Dragan Krapović

Minister of Defence of Montenegro

Following the Parliamentary elections of 11th June 2023, Dragan Krapović was appointed Minister of Defense of Montenegro on 31st October 2023.

Dragan Krapović was born on 26th August 1978 in Podgorica. He is married and have three children.

Following secondary school, he pursued a higher education at the Law School of the University of Montenegro. He gained an excellent legal professional experience within the „Commercial bank AD Budva“, as well as in private business in the field of tourism. He is very proficient in English, and speaks Italian.

In 2016, after the local elections in the Municipality of Budva and impressive electoral result of the Democrats, he was appointed Mayor of the Municipality, which position he served for two years.

On 25th May 2019 he was elected Vice President of the Democratic Montenegro Party.

Dragan Krapović was elected to Parliament of Montenegro for the first time in 2020 as candidate of the Democratic Montenegro Party. In the Parliament, he assumed, among others, the role of President of Administrative Board and President of the Committee of Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Urban Planning. Also he was a Head of the Permanent Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean, and he was a member of the Security and Defense Committee, as well as of the Committee for European Integration and Permanent Delegation to PSSE.
