Mark Cozad is a Senior International Defense Researcher at RAND and professor at the RAND School of Public Policy. He also leads the International Portfolio for RAND’s National Security Research Division. His research focuses on a diverse range East Asian and European security issues including military modernization, strategic and operational planning, foreign military experimentation and concept development, defense mobilization, deterrence, strategic warning, and deception. He has led multiple major projects for organizations across the Department of Defense and United States government. Prior to joining RAND, Dr. Cozad was a senior executive in the intelligence community. He also served in the United States Air Force.
