Gordan Grlić Radman has served since July 2019 as the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Croatia. Prior to his current post, he was the Croatian Ambassador to Germany from October 2017 to July 2019, and from 2012 to 2017 Ambassador to Hungary, where he also served as Secretary of the Danube Commission (2011–2014).
Before joining the diplomatic service, he worked in Switzerland as a research and development team leader and member at Melior-Haefliger AG (1984–1991). During the early 1990s, he volunteered in the Government’s Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees and at the Medical Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia.
Alongside his diplomatic career, Minister Grlić Radman has lectured at the Faculty of Political Science, Dag Hammarskjöld University College, the Diplomatic Academy, and the War College of the Ministry of Defence. He earned a PhD in political science from the University of Zagreb (2007), with a dissertation on European security architecture and neutrality. His earlier studies included management in Switzerland and a degree in agricultural economics at the University of Zagreb.
