Andreina Marsella

Andreina Marsella was born in Rome on 19th of February 1973.

She got a degree in Political Science (University La Sapienza – Rome) in 1997 and she joined the diplomatic service in 2001. At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs she worked at the General Directorate for Development Cooperation, at the General Directorate for Mediterranean and Middle East Countries and at the General Directorate for Americas.

From 2004 to 2008 she worked at the Embassy of Italy in Khartoum (Sudan), from 2008 to 2010 at the Embassy of Italy in Yangon (Myanmar) and from 2010 to 2012 at the Embassy of Italy in Kabul (Afghanistan).

From 2012 to 2013 she worked at the General Secretariat – Coordination Unit of Farnesina and from 2013 to 2014 she was head of the Central Desk for Security at the General Secretariat.

From May 2014 to July 2017, she worked at the Embassy in Tripoli (Libya) as Counsellor (from May 2015 to February 2015 she headed the Office of the Embassy of Italy in Tripoli from Tunis, due to security reasons).

From 2017 to 2022 she worked at the CFSP/CSDP Unit of the General Directorate for Political and Security Affairs as European Correspondent, following also the Foreign Affairs G7 sessions.

She has been Ambassador of Italy in Montenegro since 11th July 2022.
