Dr. Olivera Komar is a Full Professor of Political Science at the University of Montenegro and President of the Montenegrin Political Science Association (MoPSA). Her research focuses on political behavior, electoral studies, and democratic development in Southeast Europe. In addition to her academic work, she is the owner of DeFacto Consultancy, a leading Montenegrin research agency, where she leads applied research and policy evaluation projects. Dr. Komar has served as principal investigator for international studies such as the European Social Survey, the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES), and the European Values Study. She has led or contributed to numerous projects for international organizations including the UN, OSCE, OECD/SIGMA, and the Council of Europe. Her work explores the intersection of identity, governance, and democratization, with a particular focus on the Western Balkans. She is also a frequent speaker and advisor on public opinion, elections, and institutional reform in post-communist contexts.
