Since 1997, Mr. Alabbar has been at the forefront of international real estate, spearheading the growth of Emaar Properties—developer of the world’s tallest building—and Eagle Hills, a leading real estate developer in emerging markets. Under his leadership, Emaar has attained an unparalleled track record of creating iconic residential, retail, entertainment, hospitality, and leisure assets, transforming lifestyles across more than 20 markets in the Middle East, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, Central and Eastern Europe, South and Southeast Asia, and the United States.
Business Acumen
Beyond real estate, Mr. Alabbar has driven the expansion of several regional players into global champions. He is the Founder & Director of Noon.com, the leading e-commerce platform in the region, and the Chairman of Americana Group, the Middle East’s largest integrated food company and a multibillion-dollar enterprise. He also co-founded RSH Limited, a pan-Asian and Middle Eastern distributor and retailer of over 70 internationally renowned sports, lifestyle, and fashion brands, with a footprint spanning more than 40 countries and over 1,000 retail outlets.
Mr. Alabbar is also the Chairman of Zand, one of the world’s first fully digital corporate and retail banks launched from the UAE, and a shareholder in Artstreet Limited, which has investments in real estate ventures. His forward-looking business acumen continues to shape industries at the intersection of innovation, lifestyle, and global commerce.
Education
He graduated with a degree in Finance and Business Administration from Seattle University, USA, where he also received an Honorary Doctorate. In recognition of his contributions to global business, he has additionally been awarded Honorary Doctorates from the London School of Economics and Political Science and Sun Moon University in South Korea.
